Happy Howween!

Our little ones had a pretty fun Halloween. On Wednesday, we went to our ward's Halloween, I mean Fall Carnival. Addy was in heaven. She ran around with her little friends and played all the games, and ate lots of candy. When I wasn't looking. Okay, maybe I did let her chow down a little bit. It's Halloween! And she's 2 and a half. If she doesn't get to eat candy, that is un-American. That's my opinion. Anyways, from the pictures you will deduce that Addy was a princess and Bryn a "quack quack".

Now let me explain to you why Matt is the greatest husband: He works swing shift every other week. Yes it is annoying, and can get complicated, but we live with it. ANYWAYS, it turns out that the weeks that we have any ward function, Relief Society activity, book group, holiday, etc., he is working until 1 AM. So I got the girls ready and hauled them with me to the church for the ward party. Luckily, we have so many wonderful angels in our ward who are willing to hang out with Addy and help me out. But the next night was Halloween, and Addy is finally old enough to kind of care about it. I think she understands that dressing up is fun, and she understands that candy is good, so that settled that. I wanted to try my luck at taking the girls trick-or-treating solo. I did mention to Matt months ago that it was sad that he wouldn't be there for he first trick-or-treating experience. But that's all I said. There is no use moaning and complaining about something that can't be helped. So after school, I picked the girls up and hurried home to get them ready for the evening. Well, the truck Matt takes to work was still home. You guys, he took work off so he could be with us. What a great surprise for our family! Addy couldn't have been more excited to hold Daddy's hand as we went door to door in our neighborhood. It was a good night.

One more Halloween related thing: Addy was having a hard time saying "trick-or-treat" at the door, but was pretty pro at saying "HAPPY HOWWEEN!" I know. Presh. But it wasn't until we were walking away that she says "trick treat," "Howween," "I got a lotta cannies," (as she shakers her bucket and RUNS to the next house) and "Iss fun guys!" All the while, little ducky Bryn is hanging out in the stroller thinking, "whatever, this is cool."

Kids are the greatest blessing in the world.

In other non-essential news, I have a couple of works showing in another gallery. This is exciting for me. ALSO, I am graduating in May. Yep. GRADUATING. Oh man, that is cool to say. So if you are in Idaho around February-March, stop by ISU and check out my Senior Show. That's all.

Sweet moment.

The other day I made a bottle for Bryn and placed her on the carpet to watch a show with Addy while I finished the dishes. Addy came into the kitchen moments later and asked for her juice. I gave it to her (thank Heavens for finding a sippy cup that doesn't leak) and continued doing the dishes. I look over into the living room to see what the were doing and this is what a found. I love those little girls.

Going mobile.

Let's see if I am better at updating the blog from my phone. Doubt it. Here's a couple shots of the little ones this morning.

She wasn't mad. Do you see her tiny foot stuck in the leg of here pajamas? Haha
Watching some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. This is the only time of the day she sits still.

Other randoms.

Here are a few other things that have been going on:

Attempting to potty-train.

Supa fly.

WTF.

Got Addy some new buddies.

Bryn still exists. She doesn't get too much air time on the B-L-O-G.

Working on the basement.

Strange baby disease? No. Tights that have little puffs on the inside + tiny baby legs = funny looking.

Addy's boyfriend and her favorite program, Hotdog (AKA Mickey Mouse Clubhouse)

Any of you that know my child know that his RARELY happens. She was tuckered out.

Helping bring in the groceries.

It snowed April 22. That's a month into Spring. I know. Lame.

Playing with our friends.

And passed out again. We've had an exciting week.
Addy woke up this morning with this in her crib. She handed it to me to show me her drawing and said "Kitty!" I can see that. I see some pointy ears and whiskers. What do you think? HAHA

Happy baby.

Here is a quick update on what we're up to:

MATT
  • Working tirelessly on the basement/upstairs. We are now tiling and putting up trim. He's such a hard worker.
  • The Weather should be getting better soon, so he's also been planting trees galore. We just got done planting 15 fruit trees, and now we're looking into some lilacs and other lovely shrubbery.
  • Still working. And, uh, tolerating it.
LAURA

  • I'm going back to school! WOOHOO!!!! I have all of 1 year left. One summer, and 2 full semesters. AND THEN I'M DONE! We've invested too much time and money into it thus far to quit now. And the more childrens we create, the more complicated it will be. So we're going to knock it out starting next month.
ADDY

  • Loves Hotdog.
  • She's getting very close to being potty trained. All involved are thrilled.
  • Her new favorite thing to do is clean up. She puts up anything in sight and puts it in some larger container all while singing "Ceen uh" Freaking presh.
  • She is still in love with Bryn. She loves to tickle her and make her laugh and give her hugs and kisses and say "HI BABY!"
BRYN

  • She's tiny and wonderful. Still sleeps and eats like a champ.
  • She loves to chew on the vibrating pull bird thing on her carseat.
  • She wakes up and coos. No screaming. It's magical.
  • She's enjoying flipping from her back to her belly, but not vice versa. We're working on it.
  • She also loves her big sister. If she's fussy, she calms right down when Addy plays with her.

I think that's all folks. We'll get at ya when there's more to report. :) See ya reeeeal soon! (10 points for who can tell me what that's from...)

Addy's birthday

Can anyone believe that this little person is 2? Me either. Nuts.

We had a small family party for her on the weekend of her birthday. She ate cake. We ate cake. Success. Here are some of the things that transpired:

Catch Phrase with Grandma. She's 93 and sharp as shiz.

Checkin out her new top top with Grandpa.

Wouldn't be a Cutler get together until something stupid was done. We braided Uncle Devere's hair. He cut it later that week. Not sad.

Happy Birthday, Grip! I hope you enjoy the family you were born into as much as Mommy does! :)
