I've been so excited to post this. For the past month and a half, Matt and I have been working on a little room in our house to be Addy May's nursery. It's taken some time, and a LOT of frustration, but I'm very excited to report that it is FINISHED. So join me as I walk through the process:
These are pictures of the room before we bought the house. Notice the creepy mural on all the walls, and the terrible green carpet. Actually, there's so much stuff in here that you can't really see the carpet, but you will soon...
Aaaand, there's the carpet. I decided one day that I was going to just rip up the carpet, because I was sick of it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that underneath was the original wood floors, untreated and all... :)
Putting up the bead board after we painted the top half of the room.
All the bead board and trim is up. :)
Before Matt sanded the H out of the floors...
And this is during. :)
Floors all sanded, and the trim is painted.
Starting the staining...
All stained!
And this is the final product...
My awesome and hot friend Shannon made the frame in the middle. The background says "Addison May" over and over again. ADORABLE!
I've made this so that if you open and flip over the last 4 letters, it spells out Addison. In case we're feeling all sophisticated and what not. :)
I had a BLAST designing this room! My mom came up for a few days and helped me pick out (let's be honest, she picked them all out...) all the fabrics and such in the room. And since then, I've been workin my large belly off sewing up a storm. I've sewn the curtains, pillows, bumper, quilt, and even 3 different covers for the changing table pad. I don't know what I'm going to do with all my time now!!! Well, I do. Since I've got 3.5 weeks left, I should probably go into my "nesting" phase and start cleaning up a storm!!!!
Thanks for looking! Now we just need to wait til the little ball of wonder arrives!
HERE'S THE UPDATE...
I finished the crib skirt!!! So now it's all finished!! :) It's made of a stretchy kind of lace. It looks kind of antique...
I also made this little board that hangs for all her little hair doobers...
I can now just sit and hang out... When my work is finished!
